CREATION OF AN IEP THROUGH THE REHABILITATION OF 2 BUILDINGS AT DAMESME BARRACKS
fontainebleau
The project involves the rehabilitation of two buildings on the site of the former Damesme barracks in Fontainebleau to accommodate an International School of Political Studies (IEP) that will occupy Buildings 2 and 3.
As part of the Energy Renovation Recovery Plan, the objective is to improve the rehabilitation project for Buildings 2 and 3 by renovating the thermal envelope of the buildings and implementing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
The renovation works primarily focus on improving the thermal quality of the envelope to effectively combat heat loss through the roof, facades, and windows of the site. To achieve this goal, insulation materials selected have been chosen whenever possible from the category of bio-based materials. In addition to the efforts made on external construction elements, several actions aim to optimize the performance of existing technical systems such as heating, ventilation, and lighting.
The purpose of this complete renovation project of the external envelope is to align the building with the trajectory set by the tertiary decree, as specified in the Elan law of 2018. Thus, one of the project's objectives is to reduce the building's final energy consumption level by 60% compared to a reference year's consumption level between 2010 and 2019. The project should also greatly facilitate the operation and maintenance of technical installations inside the building by replacing outdated systems and improving the ease of programming mechanical control devices.
